The ship flying the flag of the small island nation of Oceania arrived from the Russian territorial waters of the Black Sea. There were more than 33 thousand tons of metal products on board.

It is reported that the arrest is related to the violation of sanctions imposed against Russia in response to the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

"In total, four persons are under investigation: the importer, the shipowner and two crew members, who are jointly accused of violating the restrictive measures imposed by the European Union," ANSA writes.
