India’s equity market has slid 1% over the past four sessions as fresh concerns over potential U.S. tariffs weigh on sentiment, erasing roughly ₹7.7 trillion in market value. This marks the sharpest decline in more than four months.

Foreign investors have been consistent sellers, offloading about $900 million worth of shares so far this year, coming after a massive $19 billion in outflows during 2025. The selling pressure has been broad-based, with all 16 major sectors in the red. Metal stocks were hit particularly hard, posting their largest single-day fall in nine months.
