But here’s the kicker: instead of stopping, the automation kept firing off thousands of failed transactions, flooding $XRP explorers with endless “UNFUNDED PAYMENT” errors.
🧠 Developer Vet 🏴☠️ (@Vet_X0) was one of the first to spot the glitch, joking that BitGo’s coders had “created an infinite while loop.” Data confirmed a wild spike — nearly 11,000 new account-creation attempts in a single day — before the system finally hit a wall.
🔧 BitGo Responds
The company quickly clarified that the issue wasn’t a hack but a technical automation misfire. BitGo has since refilled the wallet with 1,048 XRP to stop the failed transaction spam and ensure stability.
The XRP Ledger itself remained unharmed, but this event showed just how one small coding flaw can ripple (pun intended) through an entire blockchain ecosystem.
✅ Now, the ledger is back to normal, and the “infinite loop” has officially gone quiet.
