Southern Utah man sentenced after defrauding investors of $2.9 million.
Brian Garry Sewell, 54 was sentenced to 36 months in prison and 36 months of supervised release after previously pleading guilty to wire fraud. Similar sentence in a separate case after operating in an unlicensed money transmitting busines was also provided to him.

Більша частина провальних токенів припадає на мережі Ethereum, BNB Chain і Solana. Та це не проблема самих мереж, це проблема творців токенів-одноденнок, що не мають цінності.

It was done through crypto wallets and shell companies in what officials describe as one of the largest money-laundering operations prosecuted by the Justice Department.
Jorge Figueira, 59, faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted of conspiracy to launder money, with authorities alleging his network processed illicit funds across multiple continents.
He routed digital assets through multiple wallets, then exchanged them back into dollars before transferring proceeds to intended recipients in high-risk jurisdictions, including Colombia, China, Panama, and Mexico.
Don’t worry all those assets will be added to US Govt $BTC reserve and who knows that it might help them in reducing the trillion dollar debt.

Crypto Scams — and How to Stay
As crypto became popular, scammers followed. Today, phones are the main target because we use them for wallets, exchanges, and messages. Many attacks look real and are easy to fall for.
One common trick is fake exchange or wallet apps. They look real, but once you log in or enter your recovery phrase, your funds are gone. Always download apps only from official links on the project’s website and never enter your private keys into random apps.
Another big risk is fake “mining” or giveaway apps. Phones can’t really mine crypto in a profitable way. If an app promises free money, it’s almost always a lie.
There is also crypto jacking, where apps secretly use your phone to mine coins. This makes your phone hot, slow, and drains the battery fast.
Some malware uses clipboard tricks. When you copy a wallet address, it secretly changes it to the scammer’s address. Always check the full address before sending.
A very dangerous attack is SIM swapping. Hackers take over your phone number and reset your accounts. Avoid SMS security. Use authenticator apps or hardware keys instead.
Finally, public WiFi is risky. Don’t do crypto actions on open networks.
Simple rule: protect your phone, double-check everything, never share keys, and don’t trust “easy money.” Staying careful saves your crypto.
